Black-folk metallers GALAR, hailing from Bergen, Norway, is a two-man band that makes use of guest artists from various musical disciplines, as well as an unusual array of instruments including bassoon, grand piano, double bass, cello, viola and violin. Combining haunting melodies with blast beats and grim vocals, GALAR creates a sound that is evocative of the traditions of both black metal and folk music.
